Negligence by Doctor Leads to Three-Year-Old Contracting AIDS in Gujranwala
A very heart-breaking case has shown up recently in a hospital in Gujranwala. This threatens everyone and lifts up the trust from the blood test laboratories.

Three-year-old child has contracted AIDS

Due to alleged negligence and carelessness of a doctor, a three-year-old child has contracted AIDS. Despite submitting complaints to the CPO, RPO Gujranwala, and ASP Kamoki, no action has been taken against the doctor. The doctor has reportedly started threatening the affected parents.

Case Explanation

According to details, Rana Muhammad Rizwan from Alamgir Road held a press conference, explaining that some time ago, his son Muhammad Hassan fell ill. He took his son to Dr. Ashiq Najam, who diagnosed him with anemia (lack of blood). Following the doctor's advice, he got his son a blood transfusion from the lab recommended by the doctor, which was not verified. As time passed, the child's condition worsened. Eventually, tests conducted at a hospital in Gujranwala revealed that his son had contracted AIDS.

Rizwan takes the Action

Rizwan filed a complaint with the Punjab Health Department, which resulted in the lab being sealed and the doctor and his staff being heavily fined. However, when he tried to file a complaint with the City Police Station, the staff refused to accept it, allegedly at the SHO's instructions.

Parents Appeal to Ministers

The parents of the affected child, speaking to the media, have appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, to take immediate notice of the incident. They demand strict action against the irresponsible doctor and his staff, and they urge the closure of the hospital to prevent any future incidents of this kind.

Careless Staff to be Arrested

The hospital in which this has happened is Fatima Children's Hospital, with Lab Technician Ghulam Abbas and Hospital Owner Dr. Ashiq Najam being responsible. Meanwhile, the affected child's parents made their plea at the press conference.
