Traffic Police Launches Crackdown on Fancy Number Plates: Legal Action Imminent
The Traffic Police have initiated a strict crackdown on fancy and non-standard number plates across the province, with legal actions and fines for violators. Public awareness is being promoted to follow the standard regulations.
Traffic Police Launches Crackdown on Fancy and Irregular Number Plates
The Traffic Police have launched a strict crackdown against non-standard, fancy, and fake number plates across the province. Sub-Inspector Syed Imad Raza of the Traffic Police shared this information with the media, stating that legal actions will be taken against those violating the rules. He mentioned that, under the directives of the Punjab Government and Additional IG Traffic, Mirza Farhan Baig, a province-wide operation against irregular number plates, bogus plates, and illegally applied motorbike and car registrations has begun.
Sub-Inspector Raza further stated that this crackdown aims to improve road safety and ensure proper vehicle identification. He emphasized that vehicles with irregular or non-standard plates not only violate the law but also pose a risk to traffic monitoring and security efforts. Such plates make it harder for law enforcement to track and identify vehicles involved in accidents or criminal activities, hence the urgent need to address this issue.
Strict Enforcement of Traffic Rules
Sub-Inspector Imad Raza emphasized that strict implementation of the crackdown will be carried out under the supervision of DSP Traffic Chaudhry Asghar Ali. He urged citizens to avoid using fancy or non-standard number plates to prevent legal actions and heavy fines. Citizens are advised to use number plates provided by the Excise Department, which follow the standard format, to avoid any trouble. The Traffic Police have stated that violators will face immediate fines and legal consequences, urging the public to comply with regulations to maintain road discipline.
Public Awareness for Compliance
In Sadiqabad, DSP Traffic Chaudhry Asghar Ali, along with Sub-Inspector Syed Imad Raza, briefed the media about the details of the crackdown against irregular and fancy number plates. They also showed an example of a number plate that adheres to the standard issued by the Excise Department, advising the public to follow the legal norms to avoid penalties. The Traffic Police also called for greater public cooperation in maintaining lawful practices and helping enhance traffic safety across the region.
