Shocking Bribery Demand for Leave Application Exposes Corruption in Government Office

A routine office request turns into a bribery scandal when a teacher’s simple leave application leads to a shocking demand for Rs. 25,000. The case raises questions about corruption in government offices and the failure of accountability.

Bribery Demand of Rs. 25,000 for a Signature at CEO Education Office

A female SST teacher from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rasulnagar, applied for 17 days of leave under the Ex-Pakistan Leave scheme. Despite submitting the application online and in hard copy, there was no response from the CEO Education office for a long time. After multiple visits and no result, the teacher’s son, Chaudhry Muhammad Abdullah Goraya, a reporter for Daily Pakistan Lahore, went to the office to meet the relevant DEO Education Gujranwala clerk, Waqar Ahmed Mughal, and requested the issuance of the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Corruption Exposed in the CEO Office

The clerk introduced Chaudhry Abdullah to the CEO Education, Mian Munir Ahmed Qaiser, who demanded Rs. 25,000 for the NOC. After some negotiation, the amount was reduced to Rs. 12,000. The teacher’s son handed over Rs. 10,000 in cash and took photos and videos as evidence. Mian Munir Qaiser promised to provide the NOC the next day after receiving the remaining amount. However, even after giving the remaining sum, the NOC was still not provided. The demand for further payment continued.

Union President Exposes the Scandal

The complainant informed the union president, General Gulraiz Akhtar Sindhu, who expressed concern and personally intervened to get the NOC from the CEO office and handed it over to the complainant. This reveals the deep-rooted corruption in the office, with Mian Munir Qaiser as its leader. He had previously been caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Department Gujranwala while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000. Despite being caught, he managed to return to his position and has been found even more involved in bribery.

A Call for Accountability

This issue raises serious questions about the functioning of the office and the ongoing corruption. The public is urging Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Gujranwala Commissioner Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi, Gujranwala DC Naveed Ahmed, Punjab Education Secretary, and the CEO Education Gujranwala to take immediate notice and address this issue.

We request you all to share this news with everyone to unveil the disgusting demands of such criminals, so someone may get saved from their harm.
