A shocking rise in robberies and violent crimes has left locals terrified. From homes to travelers and even schools, no one is safe anymore.
Wave of Robberies Across the Region
Increased incidents of robbery and theft have left residents of Nowshera Virkan and surrounding areas feeling vulnerable. A troubling pattern has emerged, with victims losing cash and valuable items to armed criminals. In one incident, Asadullah and his mother were ambushed by two armed robbers while traveling to their village. The assailants seized cash worth Rs. 35,000 and gold jewelry valued at Rs. 700,000.
Violence Escalates as Resistance Meets Brutality
The situation turned violent in another case when Manzoor Ahmed and his wife were targeted while traveling. The robbers fired shots to intimidate them, ultimately making off with Rs. 50,000 in cash and gold jewelry worth Rs. 200,000. Similarly, in Daruki village, thieves looted Zeeshan Ghafar’s home, stealing Rs. 65,000, gold jewelry, and other valuables.
Educational Institutions Not Spared
Private properties are not the only targets—schools are also under threat. In Baga village, a private school owned by Rana Irfan Rehmat fell victim to theft, with Rs. 150,000 worth of equipment stolen.
Appeal for Immediate Action
In the most alarming case, armed robbers broke into Sheikh Arshad’s home in Maraliwala. They stole Rs. 200,000 and assaulted his wife and son when resistance was shown. The situation escalated further as neighbors arrived, but the robbers managed to flee with cash. This growing wave of crimes has spread fear and frustration among residents, who are now appealing to higher authorities, including the RPO and CPO Gujranwala, to take urgent action.
A Call for Protection
Locals demand a swift crackdown on these criminal elements and effective measures to restore a sense of security in their communities. Without immediate intervention, the fear and uncertainty are likely to worsen.
